Glasi is back with his new single „Welcome Back El Presidente“. This time, the producer from the Stuttgart metropolitan region is venturing into new musical territory. The soulful, cozy number with 104 BPM is a Pop-Country-Dance song with female vocals.
Lyrically, the track seems to be about the upcoming presidential elections in the USA, which is also the theme of the cover. The Spanish term „El Presidente“ suggests that a certain gentleman who tends to impose a wall with assigned financial responsibility onto the Spanish-speaking neighbors could be meant. But actually, the obvious is not the background of the song, especially since Glasi, as he himself says, does not want to express a political opinion with the track. Rather, the track was born out of a funny story from his private life: A very party-loving friend had initially given up partying for a long time, but started „his comeback“ at a party where he made himself a crown out of paper and said he was now „El Presidente“. Glasi has now worked this boozy scene into a catchy song, and the flirtation with the US elections is a welcome ambiguity.
