Glasi „Bitter Sweet Symphony“ – a classic reborn as Melodic Schranz
With “Bitter Sweet Symphony,” Glasi delivers a radically reimagined melodic Schranz version of the globally known hit by The Verve. The iconic string motif – which in the original is itself based on a sample from the orchestral version of “The Last Time” by The Rolling Stones – is not simply reinterpreted here, but completely deconstructed and reshaped into a powerful club aesthetic that unleashes energy from the very first moment.
The producer from the Stuttgart metropolitan region remains true to his artistic identity: hard, uncompromising electronic elements collide with catchy melodic accents – a blend that appeals to fans of intense, unconventional Club sounds.
The idea for the track was born at the Street Parade in Zurich. During a remix of the classic, Glasi and his friends sang along to the well-known melody – but with an improvised “Na Na Na” that didn’t actually appear in the remix at all. This spontaneous earworm later became the foundation for the project.
When Glasi told his colleague Tanja (aka TANJAH!) about the idea, a creative spark ignited immediately. Tanja had live experience but had never recorded in a studio before. The chemistry was instant – and you can hear it: her unique voice gives the track a distinct and memorable character.
The result is a melodic Schranz deconstruction in which the famous string motif becomes the driving, repetitive core. Everything feels punchy, direct, and precisely tailored for those peak-time moments when a track takes full control of the dancefloor.
Since 2021, Glasi has been making waves with his genre-crossing releases and has quickly built a growing and loyal fanbase. His sound consistently balances catchiness and edginess, blending hardness with melodic detail – and this reinterpretation is no exception.
